When determining the amount of days per week a person should workout, it is important to take into account several factors. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, beginners should perform a minimum of 2 days per week of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise and 2 days per week of resistance exercise. Additionally, they should perform stretching and flexibility exercises a minimum of 2 days per week. For those who are stronger and more fit, the National Strength and Conditioning Association recommends 3-5 days per week of strength training and 3-5 days of aerobic activities per week. However, it is important to remember that everyone is different and the recommendations will vary based on individual goals and fitness levels.
